Idle No More, Day 7 of Chief Theresa Spence’s Hunger Strike Panel Discussion

This week’s show was a panel discussion hosted by Indigenous Waves producer Jamaias DaCosta regarding Chief Theresa Spence’s hunger strike and the Idle No More campaign and movement with special guests Hayden King, Ellen Gabriel, Sylvia McAdam and Sylvia Plain.

Hayden King is a member of Beausoleil First Nation and is a Professor of Indigenous Studies at Ryerson University.

Sylvia McAdam is a self described grassroots person and lawyer from Whitefish Lake Reserve in Saskatchewan.

Ellen Gabriel is Turtle clan from Kanesatake, a  human rights and language activist and was candidate for National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations earlier this year.

Sylvia Plain is a water walker and ciimaan paddler as well as a student at the University of Toronto from Aamjiwnaang First Nation
