First Peoples and the Proud To Be Indigenous campaign

FirstPplsPRBI

First Peoples Worldwide Director of Communications Dan Morrison and Managing Director Neva Morrison joined Indigenous Waves to talk about the Proud To Be Indigenous social media campaign to signal boost the millions of Indigenous voices who will not be represented or attending the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. The Proud To Be Indigenous online campaign is asking Indigenous People to post photos, videos, and stories about their land, language, art, food and traditional knowledge on Facebook and Twitter using the #Proud2BIndigenous and #P2BI hashtags.

First Peoples Worldwide was first developed in 1997 by Cherokee social entrepreneur Rebecca Adamson, as a program of her non-profit First Nations Development Institute. In 2005, Rebecca and her daughter, Neva, founded First Peoples Worldwide as a full-fledged organization in its own right.
