The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous People, James Anaya, made his official visit to Canada October 7-15th. During that time he visited several communities, including Treaty 6. Grassroots organizers from Treaty 7 decided to make the trip to Treaty 6 to present their issues and concerns to Mr. Anaya. Abby Morning Bull and Arnell Tailfeathers joined us via phone to talk about that day, share information that was presented to the Special Rapporteur and talk about the ongoing issues that were highlighted.

Abby Morning Bull is from Piikani First Nation, and a student at the University of Lethbridge majoring in Native Studies.

Arnell Tailfeathers is a member of the Blackfoot Confederacy and is a photographer and organizer from the Idle No More Blood Tribe.
