Kanienke’haka Cellist Dawn Avery, 50 Shades of Red


Kanienke’haka cellist Dawn Avery joined Indigenous Waves in August to discuss her latest release, 50 Shades of Red.

Dawn Avery is Turtle clan, and her Kanienke’haka name is Ieriho:kwats.  Composer, cellist, vocalist, educator and GRAMMY nominated performer, Dawn Avery is committed to Indigenous language and cultural preservation as a musician, educator and participant of longhouse ceremonies.
